City of Mary Esther Receives $324,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding

The City of Mary Esther was awarded $324,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from state and federal sources for pandemic relief and hurricane recovery. The Community Services Block Grant Program is administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.

In 2021, the City also received $700,000 for water and sewer improvements. The funding will provide water, sewer, and sidewalk improvements in our Springdale Park Neighborhood.

The following is a breakdown of how the funding will be used:

$324,000 for sidewalks in Springdale Park Neighborhood - CDBG

$700,000 for water and sewer improvements in Springdale Park Neighborhood – CDBG

Total $1,024,000 in CDBG funds for the project
