Ms. McKamy moved from Washington, D.C. to Mary Esther in 2003, after an executive career in the publishing and non-profit industries.
She served as Mayor Pro Tem for 2017-18 and is currently the City’s liaison representative to the Community Traffic Safety Team, the Okaloosa-Walton Transportation Planning Agency, West Florida Regional Planning Council and serves as the alternate on the Okaloosa County Public Library Cooperative Board. She has enjoyed volunteer work with Mary Esther Green and other community organizations.
Ms. McKamy’s goals for the City are:
The City’s water/sewer capital infrastructure improvements and financing
Community involvement, engagement and partnerships at and for special events, library programs, and neighborhood collaborations
Environmental leadership and awareness, particularly for the Santa Rosa Sound water quality
Highway 98 traffic safety
Reinvigorate Santa Rosa Mall and other commercial areas, with one goal being more pedestrian and bike friendly developments
